Reconnecting with place and land to develop skills for the future

Our principal aims are:

  • To promote understanding and awareness of the public (with a particular focus on youth) of environmental issues, local heritage and the arts, and the many areas which link these three.
  • To create a space which will provide a lively and productive community focus, and a base for exploring the environmental and heritage resources of Cotesbach Estate.

The renovated buildings will provide an informal drop-in meeting place with a small café selling healthy seasonal produce.  With events and exhibitions, invited speakers and performers, the buildings will provide a shared space for  a wide variety of interest groups, thus reaching out to a wide regional audience, and allowing for the sharing of skills and knowledge.  We hope to support:

  • Schools and Further Education establishments
  • Community and Voluntary Groups including ones with special or alternative requirements
  • Conservationists and Environmentalists
  • Historians and Archivists
  • Artists and Crafts People
